  • 1.  Getting Error in SPMonitor logs after agent installation

    Posted Dec 01, 2016 02:45 AM

    Hi All,

We have a sharepoint application where we installed .Net agent and enabled SPmonitor. We are getting the below error in the SP Monitor logs.

Error:  Application windows event listener got error for server "Hostename". Will try to register for Events to server "Hostname" in 300000 ms.

Can anyone please help why this error is coming?

    regards,

    Chandrasekhar.

    What is the Event ID?

    Hi Haruhiko Davis,

Sorry I am not sure where can we find Even ID, but the complete log message is like "[ERROR] [IntroscopeAgent.LogEventsListener] 9. Application windows event listener got error for server "Hostename". Will try to register for Events to server "Hostname" in 300000 ms.

Pls let me know where can I find the Event ID.

    Thanks,

    Chandrasekhar.

    Okay, I misunderstood.

I thought the message was from SP and not the agent.

Have you looked at the Windows Application Log to see if there are any corresponding events?

I did not check the application logs yet.

I will request the application team for logs. Is it related to Admin permissions required to read the events?

    Regards,

    Chandrasekhar.

    Hi Chandrasekhar,

    Below some suggestions:

    1. review http://www.ca.com/us/services-support/ca-support/ca-support-online/knowledge-base-articles.tec602363.html

    2. if possible, turn off  the below intrumentation in the webservices.pbd  :
    #TurnOn: WebServicesCorrelationTracing
    #TurnOn: WCFServerFaultTracing
    #TurnOn: WCFClientFaultTracing
    #TurnOn: WCFServerTracing
    #TurnOn: WCFClientTracing
    #TurnOn: WCFRuntimeTracing

    3. Enable DEBUG logging on the agent (as below) restart IIS and check for errors in the windows event log and agent log

    - enable DEBUG in the logging.config.xml
    -set introscope.nativeprofiler.logBytecode=true and introscope.nativeprofiler.logAllMethodsNoticed=true

    Regards,

    Sergio

I have checked the link, it is regarding an issue getting farm details. But, we are getting a different error. However, I couldn't get to do the steps provided for Webservices.pbd. Today I will do and let u know.

    Dear Chandrasekhar:

If Sergio's steps do not solve the issue, please open a case for resolution. Once the case is resolved, please report back the results.Marking as answered since a response was given and failing that, then a case is needed,

    Thanks
