  • 1.  Spectrum SANM policies

    Hi ALL,

I have an issue where a loop will occur in our network do to an incorrectly placed switch port. When this happens all the affected devices in the that segment will alarm, and then clear, then alarm and then clear(flapping), and do this constantly until the offending device is located and removed (which could take several hours).  The result is we get a multitude  of alarms in the alarm screen, and all associated policies in SANM is continually firing off down and clear emails.  Is there a way to throttle the SANM policy so that it stops sending emails after lets say the second round of emails are to be sent? I had to manually go in when it was occurring and set the age time up to 20 minutes from 3 minutes on the policy and this slowed down the flood but did not stop it from re-occurring. This was only a  stop gap, and I had to be present in order to do it. Anybody have this experience before, and have any suggestions they could share?

    TIA
