In our Properties tab, all fields are open for editing by Project Managers and administrators.  I do have a Project Managers "Group" with special permissions.  I want to make the "Project ID" and "Project Name" and some other fields read-only for the Project Managers.  What is recommended to do?

You cannot "discriminate" attributes in the same subpage for different users.

You will have to use different subpages. All the read-only attributes should be in a subpage and you provide view access to users, except for the special group who can edit it. Some thing like:

    - Properties

    - Properties (read-only)

    Thank you!

Autonumbering makes the project ID read only for all.

The project number needs to replicate another separate system where the project is originated so I won't be able to leverage autonumbering.  Thanks.

    Then go with Aurora's suggestion.

You create a secure subpage with the read only attributes and give access to that page to all who can view projects.

Otherwise they do not see the project name nor ID in the project list.
