  • 1.  Discovery probe not updating discovery server

    Hi,

     

    We are getting error while discovering servers in CA UIM using discovery wizard.

     

    [attach_clientsession] ERROR com.nimsoft.nimbus.NimServerSession - (2) communication error, Error when trying to send on session (S) com.nimsoft.nimbus.NimServerSession(Socket[addr=/172.18.12.72,port=48009,localport=57197]): Connection reset by peer: socket write error

    Discovery probe is not updating status to discovery agent.

    Please suggest solution.

    set the discovery_server and discovery_agent loglevel to 3 and logsize to 15000 and test again.

    You will probably see there is a communication issue happening.

    Need to track down why there is a problem.

    Usually this happens when tunnels are not setup correctly.

    You can also try setting the hub time out values higher.

    I am getting this error in discovery _agent probe logs.
    :-
    [StatusUpdaterOnConfig, discovery_agent] Encountered error updating Discovery Agent status to Discovery Server (/DCWW_UIM/DCWW_UIM_hub/DCWWPDUIMHUBCLS/discovery_server): (2) communication error, I/O error on nim session (C) com.nimsoft.nimbus.NimNamedClientSession(Socket[addr=/172.18.12.26,port=48027,localport=58640]): Read timed out.

    you will probably need to open a support case so they can help you trouble shoot the communication issue if you are not able to track it down.

    Hi Gene,

    [udm_inventory-1] WARN  com.nimsoft.discovery.server.udm.importer.UdmCtdGraphImporter - Could not find matching UDM property for hasChild

    can this error help me to know the issue??

    no that error message is usually benign
