    Hi,

We have installed UIM 8.47 on windows 2008 R2 ent edition.

We have Oracle 11.2 installed on Linux 6.x and robot installed on DB server. I want to monitor oracle DB databases locally.

Can anyone help in providing steps to monitor these databases locally through UIM.

    HI,

You would need to install the oracle probe on the local robot on the db server.

Then configure the probe to point to the oracle client for the database

    and configure the robot environment.

Below are some trouble shooting KB articles.

Need to make sure the oracle client Bit level matches the os.

We do not support using 32 bit oracle client on 64 bit OS to make connection and it must be the full client not the instance client.

    Hi,
So if you are using an Oracle back end you should not install the Oracle client on the primary hub.
The Oracle  client is not needed to be installed for the uim primary hub if using an Oracle back end as it installs an instant client.

The oracle probe ca  not use the instant client but requires the full oracle client.
You will need to install the full Oracle  client on the robot with the Oracle probe that supports the target  databse and that the bit level matches the os bit level where the client is being installed..
