The following deprecated portlets have reached end-of-life and will not run with CA UIM versions 8.4 and later.

    • Alarm Console
    • Custom Dashboards
    • Dashboard Designer
    • Dynamic Views
    • Maintenance Mode (the portlet; the probe remains part of CA UIM)
    • Nimsoft Remote Admin

    Hi,

Much of this functionality is now in the USM Portlet.

Alarm Console and Dynamic Views have been replaced by the Alarm Views and System Views in USM.

The Maintenance Mode portlet has been replaced by a new USM-Based Maintenance Mode.

Custom Dashboards and Dashboard Designer have both been replaced by the new "Dashboards" portlet, which is HTML5-based instead of Flash-based.

Finally, Nimsoft Remote Admin has been replaced by the Discovery Wizard, also found in USM.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Jason

I would suggest that care be taken with the interpretation of the word "replaced". Closer to the truth would be to say that parts of UIM have been removed and new parts with similar (but far from identical or 100% inclusive) functionality have been added. Depending on the functionality you are using in the depreciated parts, this distinction might be irrelevant or it might be a huge cost. Also make sure that you vette out the upgrade and function in the new version in your test environment - much of the documentation around the differences and upgrade process is unrealistic. From my experience you won't know for sure until you try it....
