  • 1.  Can we On/Off the Java Agent without restarting Application Server?

    Hi All,

     

    We have a Websphere Application, we are monitoring it using Java agent. Is there any way we can turn the Agent On/Off  on the application server without restarting the server? As the application has a complicated Architecture and would take atleast 2 hours to restart. 2 Hours in production would really impact the business. Pls help.

    Sorry, no there is not. Once the app server is started, there is not a way to stop the instrumentation.

    As Hal said, this is not possible. You would have to fundamentally change Java to accomplish this.
