  • 1.  Is it possible to remove metrics within a date constraint from smartstor db?

We would like to clear smartstore db on some of the collectors as the historic metrics is getting huge. But, we would like to remove part of the metrcs, which is forexample SQL related older than few months. Is it possible to do this using the SmartStorTools? or is there any other way to do that?

    Thank you

    Hi:

I asked internally and looked up some myself. The answer is no for out of the box functionality

    looking at

CLW Command Reference - CA Application Performance Management - 10.5 - CA Technologies Documentation

    and

    https://docops.ca.com/ca-apm/10-5/en/administrating/configure-enterprise-manager/configure-and-manage-smartstor-data/

Hiko_Davis, is being included to see if this can be done in a PS engagement.?

    Thanks

This would not take into effect immediately, but you may also consider using the SmartStor data tiers for reperiodization to age out and delete metric data at the end of tier 3:

Configure and Manage SmartStor Data - CA Application Performance Management - 10.5 - CA Technologies Documentation

Two responses were given and there were no follow-up questions. So marking as answered. Of course, you may ask follow-up questions if needed.

    Thanks
