May want to also look at this KB article on using wild card SSL
Dear Gene_Howard & jalhi01
Many thanks for the links
i performed the steps as mentioned in document
my concern is that as now i have generated CSR value from wasp probe as guided in the document. in the document there is written send this CSR line of code to Certificate Authority(CA). Paste the CSR into the web form of the Certificate Authority (CA).
how to Send the CSR to the Certificate Authority so then i will receive signed and root certificate from certificate Authority as mentioned in document.?
what i understand is to send CSR key to my security team who will generate certificates so they will add this CSR value in those certificates ...Am i correct?
If your security team is responsible for purchasing the signed certificate or if they are using
their own internal certificate authority you will want to save the contents to a file and
provide them the file to be signed.
Copy the entire output
-----BEGIN NEW CERTIFICATE REQUEST-----
-----END NEW CERTIFICATE REQUEST-----
to a file and name it something like wasp.csr.
Note: Make sure to include the BEGIN and END lines
Note: Make sure that there are no additional spaces or extra lines at the bottom of the file.
Your security team should then be able to obtain the signed certificate and also provide the
root and intermediary certs for the CA as well. You may also want to let them know the
certificate is for a tomcat server.
Many thanks for your quick response
Yes my security team is responsible for the certificate .So what I
understood is to provide them CSR in notepad file (keeping in mind your
note as well).
So they will add this key in certificate. And then I will upload those
certificates when my security team provide this.
Hope I'm clear.

Our Certificate Authority team has generated 2 certificates and now i need to upload it. As mentioned in document. it says Use the URL http://UMP_server/jsp/wasp_upload_certificate.jsp to upload the two certificates. i need to know in which location/directory should i need to put those certificates so then i will use this url to upload the certificates. Please Help.
Have you followed Imported the Import the Public and Private Key Pair and next steps on the guide ?Please review Import the Public and Private Key Pair at link:
jalhi01 i followed the following document
in this document its just saying to import the certificates by using url (see the second page)
I was not aware about this document, do you have an Official link to it ?.This .../wasp_upload_certificate.jsp page, based on what I'm seen, allow you to paste certificates and upload them.
At this stage I recommend you to follow product documentation.
the .../wasp_upload_certificate.jsp page is from a VERY old documented and this process is no longer supported.
The UIM base documentation shows the commands to import the certificates
Follow these steps:
Open an administrator command prompt on the server running UMP.
Note: Run the following keytool commands in the same directory as the wasp.keystore file, typically <UMP or UIM server_installation>/probes/service/wasp/conf. The keytool utility is located in the directory where the JRE resides, typically <UMP or UIM server_installation>/jre/<jre_version>/bin/keytool
If your certificate authority provided a root certificate, import the root certificate:
<UMP or UIM server_installation>/jre/<jre_version>/bin/keytool -import -trustcacerts -alias <root_certificate> -file <root_certificate>.cer -keystore wasp.keystore
Import the intermediate certificate:
<UMP or UIM server_installation>/jre/<jre_version>/bin/keytool -import -trustcacerts -alias <first_intermediate_certificate> -file <first_intermediate_certificate>.cer -keystore wasp.keystore
Import the signed certificate. This is the entity certificate if you received a chained certificate:
<UMP or UIM server_installation>/jre/<jre_version>/bin/keytool - import - trustcacerts - alias wasp - file <
Many thanks Gregory and the entire team
