Issue: 

After configuring the HP ALM Service and attempting to start the TDoD service, I am receiving the following error message:

FATAL - Exception occurred while starting service: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {C5CBD7B2-490C-45F5-8C40-B8C3D108E6D7} failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)). 

Environment:  

CA Test Data Manager (TDM)- Test Data on Demand (TDoD) and HP ALM. 

Cause: 

This error message means that you have not yet installed the HP Quality Center Connectivity tool. 

Resolution:

You will need to install the HP Quality Center Connectivity tool. Here are directions on how to do this:

1. Open HP ALM in a web browser.
2. Click the 'Tools' tab or the 'Add-Ins' page.
3. Click the 'HP Quality Center Connectivity' option.
4. Click the 'Download' button.
5. Save the add-in file as TDConnect.exe.
6. Run TDConnect.exe to install it.
7. Re-start the HP ALM Service. 
8. Re-start the TDoD Service.
