Open Source/non-profit/Free licnese?

I'm looking into replacing Gitter.im for a team and public chat that is used for an Open Source project that I work on.

Currently the existing Free for teams of 5 or less license works for the dev team. However, if we wanted to have a public change for our user to join, we would go above the 5 user limit... How does that work out with the existing licensing terms since the end users wouldn't be officially part of our "team"?

Thanks in advance...

PS - I've logged this with my CA account because I was already logged in and I didn't setup a Flowdock account yet.
