Hello,

Can somebody explain to me the configuration of the new Azure Probe?

The configuration asks for a client id asscociated with the "application", what is the application? Would we require and application even if just want to monitor the Virtual Machines hosted in Azure?

Adding lawan03.  Yes, the UIM Azure probe IS the application in this case.  Because we are accessing APIs, you need to create an "application" that represents the Azure Probe and grant it reader role so it can query the Azure APIs.  So this step is needed for our probe to pull data from the Azure APIs for any Azure services, including Azure VM.  Steps to create an application for that represents the Azure probe are found in this nice Microsoft-provided example https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-resource-manager/resource-group-create-service-principal-portal
