If you were an early adopter of CA APM 10.5.1, released only a few weeks ago, you were likely contacted and told about a pending update called hotfix 1 that we were releasing.  At the time, your only option was to download the entire product again to get from the original release of 10.5.1.6 to the hotfixed release 10.5.1.8.  We heard you: that's too much work!  So we produced a patch that you can apply to existing 10.5.1 installations with much less effort!

If that's your situation, please download the patch on CA Support Online as you would normally download the CA APM product and select 10.5.1 hotfix 1 (labeled as 10.5, GEN level 1HF1).  You'll see in the downloads list an option for "APM r10.5.1.0 HF1 Upgrade Patch (for upgrade from APM build 10.5.1.6 only!)".  Download that!  Instructions are embedded within.

If you have not yet upgraded from a PRE-10.5.1 version, simply download the full 10.5.1 product as you normally would for the upgrade process.  Nothing is different for you in that situation.

Some time ago CA announced two updates a year. It's nice to get lot's of hotfix packages, but CA should spent some more time to test new releases instead of shipping hotfix packages a short time after the release, I think.

What does it fix? We were not contacted about there being a hotfix on the way.
