Does anyone have a clue on how are the licenses consumed for azure probe ?

Would it be like one azure subscription account added as profile = 1 license consumed ?

Phani.Devulapalli  Like many UIM probes, the Azure probe is licensed by the number of devices being managed.  In the case of Azure, this does equate to 1 license per Azure subscription added as a profile (this will show up as API Endpoint device).  Beyond that, it will depend on how many "devices" are being managed.  In the context of the Azure probe today, only VMs are counted as devices.  So if you are managing 50 Azure VMs, you would need 51 licenses including the endpoint.  As we continue to enhance the Azure probe and add support for more services, some additional items may show up as devices.  An example could be that in a future release, a device would be created to represent an Azure Scale Set, and thus would apply to your required license count.

So, that would be 1 Server Pack license per VM right?

This format of licensing for azure dosent look so encouraging taking into consideration that the capability of monitoring using azure probe for VM's is not that extensive compared to using the agent (Robot) and at the end of the day it would be the same license consumed for VM if we monitor it using azure or a robot. Though I understand there are some additional benefits which we can gain by using azure probe at a overall azure environment level by monitoring all of the resources 

Having the azure probe licensing similar to the vmware probe might be more encouraging where every VM would not be counted as a license unless we choose to go with enhanced monitoring using a robot

Hi Phani.Devulapalli thank you for the feedback, it is always welcome and appreciated.  So our cloud probes such as Azure are actually part of the Server and App pack, so you would need at least 1 Server and App pack license for the endpoint, and then 1 per Azure VM.  Keep in mind with this you can monitor Azure services that are not VMs such as Azure SQL databases and Azure Web Apps.  In addition, if you haven't seen the most recent Azure probe, the metrics available for VMs and other services through the ARM API are pretty extensive.  And remember that once you've licensed a VM for Server and App pack, it's not an either-or situation.  You can use the Azure probe AND cdm  or other local application probes in the Server and App pack for that instance.
