How is the Resolved Date and Resolved by field populated in Risk/issues/Changes of a Project?
Gets set when you set the status to Resolved I think.
Confirmed - Resolved Date and Resolved By both get set when status is set to to "Resolved." Resolved by is set to the username of the one making the status change. If using a process, the process initiator's username is used.
We had a struggle with this, as most of our company wanted to then close the resolved issue/risk as a final state. When changing to 'closed' a couple things happen:
CA PPM is really setup to have two end states for risks/issues - either resolved or closed. Though a struggle, here, most now agree that it is important to filter risks and issues for those that were resolved, so that we can determine if their are follow-on actions to perform, such as implementation of lessons learned. Also, it helped to update our procedures to recognize two end states!
When to use "Closed": When risk/issue is a duplicate, a mistake, customer agrees that what was thought a risk/issue really isn't, "just not going to fix it," "will make it a task on next project, fix it then," etc.
