Hi,

We upgraded the CA UIM version from 8.4 to 8.47.

After the upgrade the cdm probe version also changed and from 5.61 it changed to 5.72.

Now the issue is the CDM 5.72 in CA UIM -8.47 is getting deployed but PID and port is not generating.

In logs it showing "Max restarts reached".

Please let me know how to overcome this.

Hi Ayush, do you have VS2010 redistribution package on this machine?

Please see this note in the probe specific requirements:

"Note: A dependency error occurs if you do not install the VS 2010 package when you upgrade to cdm probe version 5.70 and later."

Already did this and have checked but no fix.

Issue resided till now.
Any other solution.

Check in the controller.log files ($installpath/Nimsoft/robot/*) - do you see any errors? Very often, the controller probe will provide some information on why the probe can't start.

What about the cdm.log - do you see any errors other than 'max restarts'? Raise the loglevel to 5 - does that add any information?

You might want to consider opening a ticket with Support should you not see any obvious errors.

Are the robots Windows 2003 or Windows 2008 64-bit systems?  If so, this is a known issue with the 5.7x releases of the cdm probe.  You need to download the 5.80 GA release of the probe to deploy to these Windows servers.  This is documented in the cdm Release Notes in the Revision History section:
