    Dear all,

anyone using orascan connector with CA SAM? We have the problem that it detects options, management packs and features installed in the databases, but it does not detect the actual usage of those options, so you can not get a complete picture of the Oracle database compliance.

    Un saludo,

    Pablo

    Hi Pablo,

Yo my knowledge it doesn't really matter whether you're using these tools or not, i.e. as long as they're installed Oracle requires them to be licensed for that particular Oracle database.

Do you have any contractual agreements with Oracle that clearly refers to usage in this context?

    Thanks,

    John Sorensen

The orascan connector detects if the features are enabled or not , this is what Oracle sees as usage. You will see that all Features and options will be listed and the version is set to true or false depending on if it is Enabled or not.

This will hen be matched by the Signatures
