  • 1.  User registration and user authentication with exisiting user store in MAG

    Posted Mar 24, 2017 01:48 AM

If there is already a user store that a company is using and wants to leverage it for new user registration and authentication for their mobile apps, is there a way we can achieve this using MAG? The documentation (User Authentication - CA Mobile API Gateway - 3.1 - CA Technologies Documentation ) doesnt state anything regarding this.

    Thanks,

    Hi Rajeev,

likely that this work but it maybe require a Policy logic especially created for it.

What user store are you using?

    Cheers,

    HD

    Hi HD,

Its a user store from a third party CRM application. I am not yet sure what protocols they support. But wanted to check if CA MAG has option for integrating with something other than Siteminder/Social identity providers.

As HD said, if you have to, it should be possible to implement an endpoint to authenticate against a remote user store, if the remote user store provide relevant authentication APIs.

But it might be better, or easier to import/migrate the existing users into a LDAP/CA SSO/internal IDP.

    Hi Rajeev!

OTK and MAG should not be used as user stores. OTK and MAG can be, and should be, configured to connect to SiteMinder (CA SSO) or any other LDAP. It is not really the concern of OTK or MAG to provide an internal solution for that. MAG specifically is also prepared to leverage social login.

Please let us know if this helps,
