    Hello all,

     

    We are facing agent down issue on one of the windows 2008 R2 machine .Controller show the below error 

     

    "sockServer: requested port 48000 is already in use
    Apr 11 08:15:06:436 [10488] Controller: The controller is unable to use 10.X.X.X:48000. Aborting. The address/port may already be in use."

     

    Can someone assist on steps to be followed to fix the issue.

    Hello,

    On that host, there is another application which is bound to that port 48000.

    48000 is registered with IANA so there shouldn’t be anything but there are a couple of applications (eg swift) which incorrectly use the UIM port range.

     

    The only other thing it could be is another robot install on the host?

    Are there two installs on different partitions ?

    Nope i don't see any other Nimbus folder. Even after fresh installation i see the same error getting recorded in controller logs.. and as per our investigation the application Ldap( dsmain.exe) is listening on port 48000

    Issue has been resolved by stopping the app..Now the controller is listening on the port .Thanks Rowan for quick turnaround
