  • 1.  Allow visibility to all requests for Catalog User?

    Posted Apr 25, 2017 06:53 PM

Business would like Catalog User to have visibility to all users' requests (all requests in system) from searches. Not sure if this can be done with an access policy via EEM (assign a policy to catalogenduser ACL) or if there may be an alternate solution (other than assigning another role). No documentation on policies I can find to explain what each does, and CA was not able to assist (not supported)...anyone else run into this and find a solution?

    Thanks...

    Hi Stephen,

What is the version that you are referring for this requirement?

"Default Role for All Users": SC R12.7 Administrattion Guide, page 94: - logging in to the root (highest level) business unit and - selecting Administration, Configuration, User Default Role. When setting the default, as proposed earlier, all users who have not been set manual (their role that is) are automatically set to the new default.

Hope this document can further help

    Hi maheshwar.kusuma,

We're trying to allow users with the Catalog User role to search for any requests.  Currently, users in this role only have visibility to requests they've created.  For a bandaid solution, we set all users to the Request Manager role, but now that approvals are being used we need to switch back to the Catalog User role so that users can't push through approvals they shouldn't have access too.

    We're running version 14.1.02 with inc 2.
