  • 1.  Project Task with No Actuals

    Hello All,

There is a Project Task, where Actual Hours were entered previously and the Timesheet was Posted. This Timesheet was then Adjusted with the Actual Hours removed from this First Project Task (0 Actual Hours) and moved onto a Second Project Task, which was Submitted, Approved and Posted again. However, when we try to delete the First Project Task with no Actual Hours, it is not getting deleted on the UI. It throws an error message that there is time entered on it even though there is none. What could be the reason for this First Project Task with no Actual Hours not getting deleted on the UI?

    Many Thanks,

    Suhail.

The message is a bit misleading I think - but there is still a relationship in the data between the task and the original timesheet and that is what the system is objecting to you trying to delete (it is trying to maintain the referential integrity between tasks and timesheets).

You will not be able to delete the task then.

If you attempted to delete the task in OWB it would just move it to a "Deleted Tasks" level in your project plan - so something similar to that is what you could do in the application, just move the task within the plan to some "junk" area.
