  • 1.  how we set origin for two customer

    Hi,

     

    Good Afternoon,

     

    To monitor my own devices, Am having one UMP server (x.x.x.x). And am monitoring my devices  with the help of UMP URL (http://x.x.x.x/user/administrator/home) 

     

     

    Now having two customer and i want, with same URL they can access and monitor their own device. How can we do that?

    What are all the steps that are needed to set origin?? how we differentiate the origin ?

     

    Both customers could see their own device, they could monitor only their own device.

     

    Can anyone explain the procedure to to do the same.

    Tech Tip: Multi-tenancy in UIM 

    If you have a separate hub for each customer you can set the origin at hub level.

    Else you can set the origin at robot level.

    In security you have to setup who has access to what origin and after that it's transparent when you access the UMP with a limited (assigned to a specific origin) user.

    Am having a Primary hub (UIM server), UMP server, and client server.

     

    Now can you please explain how can i set the origin. how can i differentiate the both customer devices.

     

    Is there any documents or video is available.

     

    Tell me the procedures and steps that i need to follow.

    Have you deployed UIM Robot on customer's server ?

    If yes, you can set tenant identifier using ORIGIN which is part of controller probe configuration.

    After ORIGIN is set properly, then you need to create ACCOUNT (Tenant identifier).

    Grant ownership of appropriate ORIGIN in the account.

    Create Account User within the account.

     

    Above 3 work is done through Account Admin.

     

    When the account user log In to UMP, it has data visibility for only devices which has ORIGIN granted in the account.

    That is how Data Partitioning works out in CA UIM.
