Is there any tool or extension in CA by which we can evaluate the CA ESP Batch jobs with multiple parameter like CPU ,IO, Dataset usage , etc ?
If these are strictly z/OS jobs, could you not turn on the SMF records that you need to track and us something like WPS or some other third party product to audit the records and produce logs? CA may even have a product that does this. I know that most Z-series owners have to submit auditing reports monthly to IBM. I spoke with the team lead from our Z/OS support group, and he explained that this is what thy (we) do. . .
You can run history report to display CPU related information. But there is no way to show the IO and dataset usage information.
Hope this helps,
Depending on what type of information you are looking for on datasets.
If you have Encore, it is possible to use the CYBRMDMP utility to dump the dataset information for a jobs, set of jobs or dataset.
Basically, the output shows what datasets a job used and when. It also includes whether they were NEW, OLD....
The link to the doc is below.
Warning: Start with a specific job or dataset name. The output can get large quickly.
Hi Thanks for the info .. But i am unable to open the link . I am getting error "403 Forbidden"
Thank you Jonathan for the hint, I only thought about ESP utility earlier.
I just learned that another product CA MICS can be used to report mainframe batch job analysis.
did you any link for this one please.
