Check out TEC1200339 and TEC1017745 for the delayed server message recommendations, and look at the How to Identify Performance Problems in CA SDM - CA Service Management - 14.1 - CA Technologies Documentation  page in the documentation.

    Hi EMS Networking,

The Delayed Server Response message is a default message that is thrown by the webengine when it does not get a response from SDM within a 25 second threshold.  The cause for this is usually some type of underlying performance issue as mitu  had mentioned in an earlier response here.  You first have to identify what is causing the performance issue, and then you can troubleshoot that to resolve it.

The most common things to look at are the following:

    1. number of user per webengine (pdm_webstat output)

    2. db agents

    3. database server performance

    4. processe(s) using high RAM or CPU

    5. network related issues

These types of things are also documented in the tech docs that were provided by mitu as well.

    Regards,

    Jon I.

Also, I would recommend you to enable the interval logging with the link provided above and analyze during the timeframe when the issue happens, specially the pdm_vdbinfo_hostname that shows you the query's processed by each agent and query's in the queue during a timeframe.

    Hope this helps.
