    Hi,

We would like to implement HFS security using SAF. We read the documentation in "HFS Control Using CA SAF HFS Security section". Have anyone already completed this type of migration? Do you have any recommendation or special steps, which is not included in the documentation? What should we consider / check before migrating to HFS Control Using CA SAF HFS Security?

    Thank you,

    Erdem.

    Hi Erdem,

From a support engineer perspective, we have had several customers that have implemented CA SAF HFS Security.

Some of their comments related to ..

    1) the conversion utility requires work before implementing any permissions.

    2) the complexity depends on the size of your HFS environment - number of rules that need to be written.

    3) with CA SAF HFS Security active, there is no FSACCESS validation  when accessing files.

If you have any specific questions, please do not hesitate to open a case with support.

    regards

    Ross

    Ross -

If I use CA SAF HFS security, do I still need to grant access at the directory level(s) - or does that annoyance go away?
