  • 1.  Monitor Number of Files

    Hi,

How do we monitor the number of files in a UNIX box. We need to have the number of files under a path always equal to 12. I know we can use dirscan on a windows server.

Can we use command mode and run a command to run a command like ls -1 /tmp/nfssync | wc -1 as I wanted to check the number of files in nfssync under tmp to be always equal to 12. When it is not equal to 12 then I need an alert. I checked by running a command and no alert when changes were applied in the probe. Upon checking the logs, I can see that the profile I used to run this is giving value as 0 which should be 12 in this case. Any help here.

    Hello,

I confirm that dirscan also works on non windows OS. You should open a case with support if the probe fail on your box.

    Regards.
