We’re happy to announce the release of our new VCS Connector for GitHub! The VCS Connector for GitHub uses WSAPI 2.0 and supports artifact state changes as well as author mapping. While you can continue to use the older GitHub Services Integration, we will only make updates to the new VCS Connector for GitHub moving forward.

OnPrem users can download this connector from the Download Center on support.ca.com. SaaS users can download the connector from the Download page on Communities or this page from support.ca.com.

Advantages of the VCS Connector over the GitHub Services Integration:

  • Ability to update referenced artifact state to valid state label used in the commit message
  • Repositories are covered based on a policy specification in the configuration file
    • Option to use Include/Exclude sections to specify repositories
      • name or shell-like wild-card '*' syntax
  • User or Organization scope
  • Ability to transform GitHub committer name to valid Agile Central Username
  • Ability to post Changesets from any arbitrary time (i.e. historical fill-in)

Our help documentation will be the source of the most complete information on installation, configuration and capabilities of this connector.

Limitations:

Currently, we are unable to support GitHub Enterprise (GHE), but have plans to extend support for GHE in the future when it is available in the API used by the connector.
