Good morning,
I need to update my UIM environment, I am currently in version 8.0.
My environment is of the following form;
Hub-Primary - Windows Server 2012 Standard
Primary UMP - Windows Server 2012 Standard
Secondary UMP - Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard
Database - MSSQL Server
By the document "What is my update to the latest version 8.5.1"
I would have to upgrade 4 times, 8.0 -> 8.2 -> 8.47 -> 8.51 -> 8.51 SP1.
To expedite this process, I had the following idea;
1- Provisioning a new server to the primary HUB.
2- Stop the "data_engine" probe in the old primary HUB.
3- Run the new installation on the new Server and point to the same database being used by the old primary HUB, so you would not lose the historical QOS and Alarm data.
4- Move the robots from the old domain to the new domain.
5. Uninstall the previous UMPs and install the new version 8.5.1.
6 - Upgrade to version 8.5.1 SP1.
Would you like to know that someone else has already done this?
And if it can work?
Thank you.

Your proposed solution will most likely not work because each of the intermediate upgrade steps specified in the TEC000004964 Knowledge Document make changes to the UIM database for both the UIM and UMP. You cannot run the UIM 8.51 install against an 8.0 UIM database. This has not been tested and could end up corrupting your UIM database.
If you want to keep your historic QoS data, then you must perform all the specified upgrades for both the UIM and UMP:
8.0 -> 8.2 -> 8.47 -> 8.51 -> 8.51SP1
Thanks,
