    Hi all,

maybe anyone can help me ....

Is there a way to uncheck the "by IP Address" field in OC (Quick-Search) by default?

    User-based or OC-based?

Typically we use the hostname to search a device in OC.
Our 1st level do this many many times per day, so a solution for this would be great.

    Many thanks!

    Best

    Holger,

I am using 10.2.1 and I am able to check and uncheck the "by IP Address" check box to perform model name searches.

    Joe,

    many thanks for your reply.

Yes, you're able to check / uncheck the box every time you perform a model name search.
But if you do this i.e. 300 times per day, it would be useful to have an unchecked box by default.

So, the question is, is it possible to customize OC to show an unchecked box directly after starting OC?

    Thanks.

    So, the next question is:

Could you please make it possible to customize OC to show an unchecked box directly after starting OC?

    And one more:

Could you please do this soon?

We also use mostly the Quick Search with names.

Our users like the Quick Search, but they don't like the need to uncheck the box.

    Regards, Frank

    Hello Holger

We checked with L2 on your inquiry - what they mentioned is that there is no current method to edit the default on the Device Search checkbox - this search box is built with internal code.

However, they also did mention that they have made a change to that search for an upcoming release (TBD):

"In upcoming Spectrum release, we have removed “by IP Address” checkbox. Now a user can just specify string which could be model name, IPv4 or IPv6 address. Code will determine what the string is and search accordingly."

So good news is in a future release there will be no checkbox. Please feel free to check back or the Spectrum Community for information on next releases of Spectrum: https://communities.ca.com/community/ca-infrastructure-management/ca-spectrum/pages/upgrade

    Hello Volja,

    that is good news!

    Thanks for your investigation.

This is exactly what we need.

In which version the new feature will be available (approx.)?
