    UIM 8.51 Admin Console load failed.

    Apache Tomcat/7.0.72 - Error report

    HTTP Status 500 - java.lang.ClassCastException: org.apache.jasper.el.ELContextImpl cannot be cast to org.apache.jasper.el.ELContextImpl

     

    This is a QA environment that both UIM and UMP are on same server with hub 7.91 and robot 7.8.

    it used to work but somehow just failed suddenly.

     

    Anyone experience this? any solution?

    Hello Gary, you may  cleanup wasp on the UMP server

    1. stop wasp probe.
    also cleared wasp/webapps folders besides *.war files
    and also wasp/work/wasp_engine folder
    2. remove the wasp.log and portal.log file in the wasp folder
    3. set loglevel to 5 in wasp.cfg file
    4. start the wasp probe.
    5. wait until it gets a port associated

     

    If you still have the problem I suggest to open a support case in support.ca.com

    However, this makes 'Actions --> Admin Console' not launching 'Admin Console' at all.

    if you go to http://<uimservserver>/adminconsoleapp directly do you get the same error?

    Are you able you open http://<uimservserver>/uimhome ?

     

    Try to:

    1. stop the Admin console wasp

    2. redeploy the probes: adminconsoleapp, mps, mpse, wasp

    3. start the wasp, clear browser cache memory and navigate to: 

    http://<uimservserver>/adminconsoleapp

    Hi Marco,

    Appreciate your attempt to help. Here's my update:

    1. hitting http://,uimserver./adminconsoleapp/ is showing the same error.

    2. I am able to open http://,uimserver./uimhome/

    3. still the same error after i perform steps sugested.

    usually the quickest way to correct this when AC2 is on the primary and not the UMP robot is to do the following

    1) delete the wasp probe

    2) make sure the folder is deleted as well.

    3) deploy the following probes in order

    wasp

    uimhome

    adminconsoleapp

    4) activate wasp and wait for port and pid

    5) test the AC2.

     

    if this does not resolve it you will need to open a support case as there is probably something causing a problem in the environment.

    Hi Gene,

    This fix the problem. however, there is a big side effect. I need to re-deploy everything... report, lis design/viewer, dashboard... all portlet deleted together with wasp folder.

    Hi, I'm just wondering why all dashboards, portlets, reports disappear after deleting the probe's folder...

    Is it because UMP is on the Primary Hub?

    Would there be a way to delete only the Admin Console instead? Or even backing up all configurations?

    My suggestion should not have impacted the UMP at all unless your UMP is installed on your primary which in my note says that I was assuming it was not.

     

    I would probably suggest you open a support case to figure out the issue I would think a webex might be in order at this time.

    Hi Gene,

    It's my mistake that I did not read your suggestion carefully. However, I did mentioned in my first post that my QA environment has both UIM and UMP on same server.

    All in all, your suggest does fix the problem and missing portlet is not a big deal.

    To clarify step #3 in Gene's update, the probes that need to be installed on the primary hub are:

     

    wasp

    uimserver_home

    adminconsolapp

    mps

    Hello, just did an 9.20 upgrade and I'm hitting the same issue. My pri-hub wasp won't start. Do these same steps apply in 9.20 to fix?

    Yes I ran into the same issue and resolved it by reinstalling the Admin Console (probes)

    wasp

    uimserver_home

    adminconsolapp

    mps

    mpse

    Then restarting the robot.
