Did you verify that the SDM ODBC services are running on the SDM server that CABI is connecting to?

You need to go to SDM Server > Run > Services.msc > Check CA Service Desk Manager ODBC Agent and CA Service Desk Manager ODBC Data Access are both in Running state. See the screenshot as an example:

    Hi John,

There seems to be a problem connecting from CABI to SDM object layer through the ODBC connection.

    Please do the following:

    1) Log into CABI Server

    2) Open Universe Design Tool > File > Import > Import you Service Desk Universe > Once is imported go to Tools > Connections > Select your Service Desk Connection > Click on Test icon.

If you get the error here click on edit connection icon > update the username and/or password to a correct username/password > Test Connection until is successful > File > Export > Close WEBI > Open it again > try again.

    Regards,

    Pablo

    Hi John,

You need to follow the instructions I provided previously. Here are the steps:

    Please do the following:

    1) Log into CABI Server

    2) Open Universe Design Tool > File > Import > Import you Service Desk Universe > Once is imported go to Tools > Connections > Select your Service Desk Connection > Click on Test icon.

If you get the error here click on edit connection icon > update the username and/or password to a correct username/password > Test Connection until is successful > File > Export > Close WEBI > Open it again > try again.

Let me know if any questions.

    Regards,

    Pablo

    Hi John,

Here is an screenshot where the Universe is already imported following the instructions already provided above and getting an error due to a wrong password during test connection:

Here is the screenshot after testing connection with the right username/password:

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Pablo

ahd04043 from SDM means user name/password is not correct...

do you check to see if the ODBC dsn casd_your-machine-name connects fine, using the same user name/password

as posted by Pablo here(" Open Universe Design Tool > File > Import > Import you Service Desk Universe > Once is imported go to Tools > Connections > Select your Service Desk Connection > Click on Test icon.")?
