    Hi Siva,

There are several out-of-the-box alarms already setup and configured in Spectrum. For a list of the "out-of-the-box" alarms preconfigured in Spectrum, see the "Administration" Guide - "Database Management" section - "SpectroSERVER Database Maintenance" section - "Database Backups" (https://docops.ca.com/ca-spectrum/10-2-1/en/administrating/database-management/spectroserver-database-maintenance/database-backups)

If you are using AlarmNotifier to send out email notifications, you should verify your SANM Policies are set to pass the wanted alarms to AlarmNotifier.

It also wouldn't hurt to look at these events in Event Configuration Editor, and verify that no one has customized these events, and disabled the alarming.

    Thank you,

    Brad

    Thank you so much Brad!!

I'm new to CA Spectrum so could you please provide me the steps to achieve this task.

Goal:  Need to get an E-Mail notification for current status of online database backup at a scheduled time (E.g: Daily 08.00AM)

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Kumar,

I suggest you review the following two documents, they go over setting up the AlarmNotifer, which can be used to send out email notifications, and the Spectrum Alarm Notification Manager (SANM), which allows you to filter what alarms are sent to the AlarmNotifier, and notification policies that help manage who will be notified.

You can find the AlarmNotifier guide at https://docops.ca.com/ca-spectrum/10-2-1/en/managing-client-applications/alarmnotifier. AlarmNotifier uses the native mail service on the SpectroSERVER to issue an email when an alarm is generated. It uses a series of scripts that can issue an email notification when an alarm is generated (SetScript), the alarm is updated (UpdateScript), or when the alarm clears (ClearScript).

The Spectrum Alarm Notification Manager (SANM) guide is located at https://docops.ca.com/ca-spectrum/10-2-1/en/managing-client-applications/spectrum-alarm-notification-manager-sanm. You define SANM Applications (AlarmNotifier instances) and SANM Policies from the OneClick client's Locator Tab. Here you can determine what alarms are passed to the AlarmNotifier application, and who need to be notified.

If you still have questions after reviewing the documentation, or run into problems setting this up, please open a support case, so a Support Engineer can help you with the specific issues you are facing.

    Thank you,

    Brad
