Charles W. Bachman, Business Software Innovator, Dies at 92
He is often considered to be the Grandfather of IDMS in that his design for the Integrated Data Store were the .building blocks for the IDMS we know and love today.
I had a meeting with Charles Bachman a decade ago during a trip he made to London. I found him to be a very bright, happy and enthusiastic man and I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to engage with him.
My thoughts and condolences go to his family and friends at this time.
