  • 1.  How to remove single drive from monitoring?

    Posted Jul 26, 2017 10:07 AM

    Hi Guys,

We want to remove single drive (example x: drive) from NAS. How to do it?

We want to create one rule to exclude alert propagation to SOI. I think we can do in CDM and NAS.

Has anyone done it before? or can anyone share any lua to do so?

    Regards,

    IK

Can you put some examples of what exactly are you trying to do?

Are you looking for ways to suppress/close/avoid specific alarms; ways to avoid the alarm to be generated in a first place;, or a script that would  replace some string you find in the message field with some other string in the message field?

    Hi Marco,

Yes i am looking for a way to exclude the monitoring on one drive in the environment. For example X drive, I have created one rule as example below.

    /.*disk\sfree.*X:\\.*error\sthreshold.*/

We have added this script in pre-processing rule. This is matching to the expected alert for suppression however it is not practically excluding alert from NAS.

    Can anyone suggest in this?

    Regards,

    IK

Can you clarify what do you mean?

If you don't want to monitor disk X why don't you un-select disk x from the cdm in a first place?

Also, what do you mean "it is not practically excluding alert from NAS." ? How do you know that it matches if the exclude doesn't work?

    Hi Marco,
We can check the patten if it matches the created rule or not. I checked it there and hence i am sure that this string is correct.

By practically, i mean to say if there is no error in pre-processing rule then why it is not excluding the existing alerts from console.

    Thanks,
    Ik

Can you copy an example of alarm you'd like to exclude?

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for this guide. I think this guide is useful in case of correlation of two alerts.
