  • 1.  dirscan directory size

Looking for an example of someone using dirscan to monitor the size of all the files (and subs) in a directory and alert if the size of the directory exceeds a set amount.

Have looked through the probe but it seems to be too many required variables for a simple monitor...??

for example...want to monitor a directory called d:\DBfiles and send alarm if it exceeds 2TB in size

not really interested in baseline or even QOS metrics....just an alarm...

    TIA

    HI,

So you would put in the directory you want to monitor

    add a pattern of *

make it recursive if you want on the scan directory tab

then go to the alarm messages tab

go to space used by files  tab

and set the expect the value to be less than < 2 Tb

    and set the alarm value

    hope this helps

Thank you!  Sorry for slow response...new portal is not easy to navigate...still learning how to get around.

We were able to set up some space monitors using this example and it works well....

    Thanks again!!
