  • 1.  SNMPGET 64bit counter

    Posted Aug 08, 2017 06:32 AM

    Hi,

We are planing migrate SNMP get request from PRTG Platform to Nimsfot.

By PRTG i can choose configure the fetch a 64 bit counter.

Now we find an issue with fetching a 64bit counter, which in snmpget prob i can configure it.

The device not has any MIB file, is custom made without MIB, so any suggestion using MIB is not relevant.

    Thanks

    Hi

The counter type that i trying to poll is 64 bit, so it looks like ( when i compare between the 2 systems) i not getting the entire value from the device, the snmpget probably did not show the full number that i should get.

    for example:

    The number should be 123456789

by snmpget i getting only 123465 or 456798 ( i do not know where he cut it )

    Hi. Thanks for response.

Do you see type as Counter32 or Counter64 via SNMP MIB Browser GUI ?

    Hi,

We dont have  mib file, our developer team build the application and define the OID as a 64 bit.
Now when i poll it by PRTG and choose it as 64bit i got different resule from the result i got by SNMPGET

Hello Asi, can you use the sapwalk2 utility to create a mibwalk file from this application. The sapwalk2 utility can be downloaded from ftp://ftp.ca.com/pub/CA-SPECTRUM/Tools/sapwalk2/. The output file from the sapwalk2 can be send with a support case to ca support for further investigations.

More information about sapwalk2 can be found here Help running SapWalk2
