  • 1.  linux robots have to run as root?

Im installing the robots/hubs into a number of linux servers. Im working with the systems admin who does not want this process to run as root or at least wants to be able to restrict access to the robot/hub processes.   I was told that the robots/hubs have to run as root.

    Is that true?

If so, how to deal when a sysadmin says no way?

If not, what is best practice to run robot/hub as a privileged user but not as root?

For support reason yes must run as root.

If there is a problem client will need to reinstall robot as root and show that the issue is not related to being run as none root.

    Can it be done? Yes

    Should it be done: No
