    Hi,

We are on version 14.3 of CA PPM. Just wante to know if if we change a person's role will it back date their rate in CA PPM?

    Thanks

    Dave

"Just wante to know if if we change a person's role will it back date their rate in CA PPM? " - What do you mean by back date?

If you change the resource's role, the rate from the corresponding row (containing the role info) will be picked up (in case the current date spans across the dates in the matrix, for that role)

    Hi Dave,
A Project Manager resource has been charged at a rate of 500$ per hour until Jun 2017. In August, you changed this resource role from Project Manager to Director whose rate is 700$/hour.
If your question is, will the actual cost calculated against this resource for the time before June 2016 change to 700$/hour - No it will not. The change will happen only for the future actuals coming in.

    Thanks,

    Jerin

On a slightly unrelated note Jerin, where do I sign up for a gig at $500 per hour?

Changing the role doesn't influence past transactions, only future transactions.(but rate used will reflect YOUR configuration of the matrix)

Keep in mind in clarity, the role needs to also change on each project

If you want to change past transactions, you'd need to do a WIP adjustment
