    Hi cummunity

In sdm 14.1 the employee and client functions have "skip navigation" link but do nothing when i click on it

In the manual have the next explication

The user interface has a Skip to Main Content link that allows users to quickly navigate to the first data field in the user interface without having to tab multiple times to get to the main content on the page.
In CA SDM, this link exists as Skip Navigation. This link allows the Screen Reader users to skip the in-between links and navigate to the main content page. This link is available by default for the Customer and Employee roles. For the Analyst role, the link is only available when the Screen Reader mode is enabled.

Someone knows why it does not work or how I make it work

Hi Christian - this will only work i believe if you have the "screen reader" preferences turned on in your user preferences.  Are you testing this with that turned on or off?

    Hi Christian,

We didnt hear back from you on this one - can you tell us if you were testing this with the screen reader preference in SDM turned on or off?  I believe if you have the "screen reader" preferences turned on in your user preferences.

    Let us know,

    Thanks,

    Jon I.

Thanks for the documentation in regards customizing the code for eliminating the Skip Navigation Link.

    Hi Christian,

The idea behind the Skip Navigation is for a user who needs to use the screen reader. A user would generally tab around and the computer would say out loud what they are tabbed to at the time. When a user hits the Skip Navigation key they can select it to skip all the navigation parts such as Logging Out and Selecting and setting the role. Notice how if you click out of the Search for a solution textbox if you click skip navigation that textbox is once again in focus. If this is not something you require in your org I would try Paul's suggestion to remove it.
