    Hi,

We have installed standalone ca itpam  version 4.3 HF01  and its working fine.but some times, the service has been stopped and try to restart the services .we are getting the following error "The service did not respond in a timely fashion".For this error ,we will reboot the server and execute the net stop http command for getting the working instance. Nowadays this has been repeating continuously .Can you please help to understand the issue and is there any possibilities that the monthly installed patches affects the CA itpam performance

    Hi Kanimozhi

From your description this would appear to be something that would be better addressed as a support case.

Could I please ask you to open a support case on our support portal at support.ca.com so that we can have a PA support engineer call you to discuss the details of the problem one on one to facilitate a much more rapid resolution to this anomaly ?

Please also advise if you are happy with this response and whether you are content for this community post to be regarded as answered on the premise that support will be provided by our assisted support  portal on our customer website (refer above).

With many thanks and kind regards

This error is normal: "The service did not respond in a timely fashion".

It is due to a miscommunication between Java and Windows.

If you search google for the error '1053 The service did not respond in a timely fashion' you will get a variety of different possible fixes, but it is such a minor issue I recommend ignoring it.

You should not need to restart the server, simply click through the error, and Java should stop shortly afterwards.

You can monitor the 2 java.exe processes to ensure they stop:

As for the issue accessing Process Automation; from your version my initial guess would be the wrong Java version.

Process Automation has issues with some changes Oracle made in the later Java releases that cause Process Automation issues starting.   See the following Knowledge doc for details:

TEC1563662  Process Automation: Upgraded to JDK 8. Showing a blank page when accessed. ERROR: "Unable to compile class for JSP" in c2o.log

If this helps please mark this as Answered, if you need further assistance please attach a copy of the c2o.log file from \pam\server\c2o\log\ for a review, or reach out to the support organization through the support.ca.com
