  • 1.  Roadmap: Is the Webconsole expected to replace the Java client in the foreseeable future?

    Hi everyone,

At present CA is developing and maintaining both the Web Console (Spectrum 10.x) and the Java client.

I would like to hear from CA whether or not deprecation of the Java client is on the roadmap, so that in a few years time connecting to Oneclick will be done entirely via Web.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I believe it will not replace.

Java Client is a thick client which is data rich and feature rich is mainly for administrators

    Web client is for operators.

    Regards

    Sunny

    Hi,

Several vendors are opting out of a client-server based module in favor of HTML5, if CA's stance is that it will continue to work primarily with a java based client for the next few years then it's worth mentioning
