  I want to monitor SYSLOG in CA UIM and send alarms based on incoming errors. Can you let me know how to do this.if there are any videos of configuration it will be useful.

you could also look at log analytics this can be configured to monitor the syslog

whether log analytics  is additional license we need?

as my latest information, if you have the Server and Application pack from UIM license you can use it. If you have somthing like Spectrum you need for 30 monitoring devices 1 Server and App pack. for Server Acks you needto upgrade to Server and App pack

To get all the latest infomation please ask your CA sales or your CA Partner. log analytics or however it is called at CA World do a lot of more things as only monitor Syslog files.
