Hello everyone,
Every time questions are asked about this old ACL, Google searches lead to this Post which never received a clear answer!
"Restrict View To User Assets" is an old mechanism that became obsolete during the successive evolutions of the product.
It is not at all clear, as shown by the leftovers here and there, that this feature disappeared by "strategy". Probably, this feature disappeared by successive "disregard" of this feature as the product evolved.
What was the purpose of this feature?
The "old" integrators remember it, this mechanism allowed to manage the ACL applicable in Nimsoft from an LDAP attribute attached to the users. This allowed, among other things, a very fine filtering of rights, which could be managed "externally" from the supervision solution (including the "Infrastructure Filters", which are also almost totally obsolete).
This functionality has no more interest since the 8.5.1+ evolution, as almost all the filtering options on the "Nimsoft/Infrastructure Manager" side, have no equivalent on the web interface.
Best regards,
Jonathan

Subject: Re: Restrict ACL on UIM 8.5
Hi Marco,
So this means that when selected, this property only allows Account Users to view dashboards. All IM (or Bus) Users will not be able to view dashboards. Is this correct?
In our case we have created a few IM/Bus users and linked it to an account. When the "Restrict View To User Assets" is selected o the corresponding ACL, those users are unable to see the dashboards (on UMP).
Do you know what is the intended purpose for this property? I'm no seeing any practical use for it.
Thanks.
