  • 1.  DSM Explorer Error - User does not have view permission on the object

    Posted Sep 25, 2017 06:19 AM

    Hi,

We have created new security profile and given Full control to all the classes for a user.

But when the user tried to open the DSM Explorer error is coming: "User does not have view permission on the object [CMM000249]".

What could be the reason for this error and how to solve the problem.

Attached screen shots of the error for your reference.

You have set the class defaults, but not given the user access to any specific objects. It’s always best to setup the default security profiles using security groups when you first install the DM or ES.

On the DM right click on the DM name, take permissions and add the user. You will need to do that for any other nodes E.G Computers and users etc. that you wish to give them access.

    Hi Steve,

    Thanks for your reply.

Have given the permissions for the DM and Computers&Users object.

But still it is throwing error. Attached permission screen shots for reference.

The screen shots look correct. What are the entries in the GUI log file saying. You may need to enable detailed traces so you can verify the user in the screen shot against the one causing the error.

    Rgds,

    Steve.

    Hi,

It seems you enabled Security Area for your account.

Could you please check if Security Area is linked properly?

    1. Open DSM Explorer with Administrator.

    2. Select Domain Name under [DSM Explorer] in left pane.

    3. Select menu [Security] - [Security Profiles].

    4. Select your target account and Click [Security Areas].

    5. Check linked [Security Area name]. After that, close the window.
Note: If you don't see any Security Areas, please turn OFF to [Enable Security Area support for this profile] and skip following steps.

    6. Select menu [Security] - [Security Areas].

    7. Check if linked Security Areas (checked in step 5) are checked.

If you don't have to use Security Areas, you can select [Off] to Security Area support.

After that, please open DSM Explorer using target account.

    Regards

    Yas

    Hi Yasuyuki,

We have disabled security area support for this profile option in the Secirity Areas button since we don't have any security area.

After that the newly created user profile is able to access the objects in DSM Explorer. Thank you so much for your support.
