    Can ESP agents (in a non-clustered environment) be defined with alias names on the mainframe?

    Hi Warren,

    Yes. Let's say the alias name is ALIAS1. You can define ALIAS1 as an agent in AGENTDEF table. And agent wobs will specify AGENT ALIAS1 in the job definitions.

    Thanks,

    Lucy,

    One more quick question …  at the server level, does the agentparm file need to be configured to recognize ALIAS1 (in addition to the original ESP agent name)?

    Yes, you need to configure the alias in the agentparm.txt file:

    #
    # Agent name
    #
    agentname=<Agent Name for Server>

    #
    # Communications
    #

    communication.alias_1=<Agent Name for Alias>
