    Hi Ratnesh,

Can you be more precise in what you are asking exactly?

But if your question is how to test SQL code in a SAAS environment:

    1) If you want to use SQL developer, you need VPN access and database access to the SAAS database. For this you need to create a ticket at CA Support and have Customer approval

    2) You can also use "Lookups". Enter your sql code in there, and then click on "Preview" to see results.

    Hi Ratnesh,

You can make use of the Jaspersoft Studio Professional, connect to the DB and then can execute your queries.

Please refer below mentioned documentation for the required confifuration:

Jaspersoft Studio Professional CA JDBC Adapter - CA PPM SaaS - 15.3 - CA Technologies Documentation

    Hope it helps.

See also Query tools to Clarity Database for SAAS environment.

I have been using Squirrel SQL with the CA JDBC drivers for around 5 months.  This is on 15.1 and 15.2.  As indicated in the above post, CA are phasing out VPN access so SQL Developer won't be an option in the future.

I have heard that 15.3 and forward will be using ODATA, so additional research may be required in the near future.

Any SQL client should not be used along with CA JDBC driver, the JDBC driver is meant to connect via Jaspersoft to build reports. We are actively looking for alternate solutions for VPN so stay tuned to the product meetings.

Also at this point we will provide VPN for non production so that you can build your SQL efficiently before deploying in production.

Hi Suman, feedback to me from CA Support is that VPN is being 'decommissioned'.

In addition, we need SQL access to production environments to support our clients.  Yes we develop on non-production, but we support production where periodically we need to access the database to assist with resolving portlet and process issues.

Is there any chance we can get a clear statement from CA on what is being provided for SaaS clients?

If the technology stack changes with future upgrades, then database access is still required, and needs to be provided.

    Hi Roland,

The goal is to have VPN less solution but giving alternative way and till that alternate way is not there VPN will be provided for Non production. We discourage providing VPN access for production but if there is a need for production access, it can be discussed. However for non production it will be provided.
