I'm noticing some odd behavior between PPM and MSP and was wondering if others were experiencing the same. For some reason, MSP wants to change the date for any incomplete milestones to be the project start date. What's even stranger is that it only does this to milestones that were created in PPM, not ones created in MSP. I know there is a Schedule setting in MSP where you can turn off calculations after each edit but I don't want to turn that off because it creates other issues. Any ideas why MSP does this to milestones that are created in PPM?

This is due to a change in the MSP New Driver where a date constraint isn't automatically added for tasks created in PPM (If you change the dates in MSP, it will create a constraint for you). See KB: In the MSP New Driver, some task Start Dates change to the Project Start Date when exported to MSP for more details on this.
