Thanks Yu .
Unfortunately, there is no other distinguishing feature to ignore the inactive drive. Mostly what I have seen in such alert details, the higher drive letter e.g: X,Y,Z,V.. are being used.
These drive could be anything like temporary USB drive, mapped network drive, storage etc .
In Nimsoft monitoring, there is a feature called auto discovery of disk drive enabled by default. In that case if any drive attached temporarily with the source server comes in monitoring automatically (cdm probe) and get alarm when the drive become inactive/missing as it remains active in CDM probe configuration. Here in these cases we can only make the specific drive monitoring inactive in Nimsoft to ignore the alerts.
One way to ignore the alert is to configure the higher drive letter agreed with platform team to ignore the drive letter. But again this will be a temporary solution.
My concern is is there any other way which will automatically ignore the inactive drive which are remove or plugged out from the server? The problem is the configuration which will remain active in cdm probe and need manual intervention to make it disable or unchecked.
