    Hello All,

Where can I find data about VSE capacity on load tests ?

    Best regards,

You can find some very valuable settings and recommendations at sample-performance-benchmarks-for-basic-service-virtualization. With regards to an optimum capacity setting for a single VS running on a VSE, a recommended value to start with is 2 x CPU Cores.

    Hi,

Do you have the same document for DevTest 8.1 ?

    Best regards,

    Hi,

Theorically, the maximun TPS that a VSE can support is <=10 for VSE Functional Testing Licenses. To increase that limit you need a VSE for Performance License.

For sure the Fisical Limit will be determined by the server resources.

    Hi Bob,

    Here is some generic information.

Capacity setting information can be found at https://docops.ca.com/devtest-solutions/10-1/en/installing/preinstallation/system-requirements#SystemRequirements-DevTestServerRequirements

if you have a VSE on 1 core, 2GB RAM machine a total of 256 VS threads can be specified but it will depend on overall system resource utilization. Sometime a VS can take more/less resources and you can specify the Capacity based on the resource utilization. A thread means the Capacity what you set for each VS.

As a best practice for a 1 core and 2 GB RAM per VSE machine, we can recommend 1 thread for functional and 6 threads for L&P as a starting points and capacity can be increased based on the system resources. For example: If you have 10 VS's deployed and only 2 VS's are used for load testing then you can set Capacity of the VS's as below:

. All the 8 VS's which are used for functional testing can have the Capacity=1
. Remaining 2 VS's can have Capacity set from >=6.

    Thanks,

    Prema
