  • 1.  Why can't I update the API attribute ID?

    Posted Nov 20, 2017 12:34 PM

We are upgrading to 15.3 and several of the OOTB and custom attributes do not have API Attribute IDs, which are needed in order to be able to add them to the New UX details. Some attributes have allowed me to add it but others have not.

Has anyone else experienced this? Do we need to create all new attributes and assigned the ID upon creation?

Attributes of all Data Types are not available in the New UX yet. For a list of available attribute types that can be used in the New UX, refer to the "System Administrator" section here: New User Experience: Compare with Classic CA PPM - CA PPM - 15.3 - CA Technologies Documentation.

The attributes I'm trying to update are the available data types, like look-ups and strings. For instance the OOTB Project Category field, or we created a simple look-up attribute that I'm not able to edit.

Since the API ID is an enter once field, does that mean it must be filled in upon creation? Could I submit a support ticket to have IDs created for existing attributes or do I need to recreate them?

This is clearly a deliberate miss by engineering.

    Hi Shelby,

The following is what is currently documented in the 15.3 Release Notes:

    -----

    "Project Attributes Support

The following project attributes are no longer supported by the APIs:

    • Page Layout
    • Progress
    • Project Category
    • Status"

Do check out the section "REST API Support" in the Release Notes:

Release Notes (On Premise) - CA PPM - 15.3 - CA Technologies Documentation

Release Notes (SaaS) - CA PPM SaaS - 15.3 - CA Technologies Documentation

    Hope this helps.

    Regards, Sarmistha
